Doors open at 5 p.m. and show time begins at 7 p.m. for the Opry’s 12th anniversary music extravaganza on Thursday, Feb. 6, at the Refugio County Fairgrounds Expo Center.
Admission is $5, and door prizes will be given at intermission.
Taking center stage will be Sally Carlson of Seguin, Jo Marie Prukop of Bishop, Randle Edwards, and David Crawford of Corpus Christi, along side the Refugio Country Opry Band “Best of the Best.”
Sally has appeared in Refugio on the Jamboree when we were affiliated with the show, but this will be her first appearance on the Refugio Country Opry.
“Sally has had much going on in her life, and we are so pleased we have finally booked her for our show. The crowd will really appreciate this lady,” said Neal Haertig, organizer.
Jo Marie has been doing music shows in the area since she was a young girl. ‘The Opry tries to have her on the show every three months,” Haertig said. “Jo Marie is a popular guest and a very talented young lady.”
“Randle was our original drummer on the Opry and we love to have him come back on occasion to perform on the show. Randle is a lot of fun and will be cutting up with John and Randy.”
David was the original keyboard player and we try to have him back every year for the anniversary show.
“You’ll see why when you hear him perform,” said Haertig.
“The Fierova Family provides an excellent food court, and like the Opry, all their net proceeds go toward a scholarship fund for graduating seniors.
