REFUGIO – The Refugio Police Department is hosting its third annual Toy Drive for kids in need this holiday season.

Toys and other items are still needed to distribute to local area kids.

Preferably, all donations should be new, unwrapped toys and games for all age groups, from small children to teenage children.

All area residents are encouraged to participate to help make the holidays bright for those in need during the holiday season.

Donated items can be dropped off at the following locations by Dec. 20: Dollar General in Shay Plaza and the Refugio Police Department, 601 Commerce Street.

Last year, toys were collected and given out by members of the Refugio Police Department to local area children, helping 30 children enjoy the spirit of Christmas. This year, the list of children in need has grown to more than 50, so far.

The support of local businesses and local residents is needed to help make someone’s holiday special. Please contact Debbie at 526-4533 if you have any questions. Happy holidays.
