KARNES CITY – The Karnes City and Kenedy Chambers of Commerce have teamed together to bring a new event to the Karnes County area.

Karnes County Market Days will take place the third Saturday of each month beginning Saturday, August 17, starting at 9 a.m. and running through 4 p.m.

The Market Days events will happen on the grounds of Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital located at 3349 S. U.S. Highway 181 between Karnes City and Kenedy.

Organizers of the new event say the Market Days farmer’s market will feature fruits and vegetables grown by local area farmers, homemade crafts, plants, candles, jellies and jams, specialty items and much more.

“We have received much interest, including local Karnes County vendors who will be having booths at the event,” said Kenedy Chamber of Commerce Board Member Christina Benavides.

“Vendor guidelines have been established to maintain the integrity of what a ‘Market Days’ is about and to be compliant with the state sales tax laws as well as the Texas Health Department regulations,” Benavides added.

Farmers who wish to participate will pay a fee of $10 for a 10-foot by 10-foot space and Market Days vendors will pay a fee of $25 for the same size space.

“We want to express special thanks to Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital which is allowing Market Days to be held at the hospital’s location,” Benavides said.

Interested vendors and farmers are encouraged to contact either the Karnes City Chamber of Commerce at 830-780-3112 or the Kenedy Chamber of Commerce at 830-583-3223 or visit www.kenedychamber.com or www.karnescitychamberofcommerce.com for vendor forms and more information.
