Bee County residents were treated to a few showers this week. With the continuing drought, many will be happy to hear that rain chances continue through the weekend. On average one to three inches of rainfall is expected. However, isolated pockets of three to six inches of rainfall will be possible as was seen across portions of La Salle, McMullen and Webb counties Monday evening, said Jason Runyen, senior forecaster with the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi. The rainfall is the result of an upper level low drawing deep tropical moisture over the Gulf of Mexico westward into South Texas increasing the threat for showers and thunderstorms, Runyen said. Temperatures will remain in the mid to lower 90s for the rest of the week.
