Karnes County is full of historic places designated in memory of events, subjects, people and places.

With over 25 historic markers in Karnes County which include all areas of the county, there are plenty of places for visitors and citizens to visit.

This does not include the many surveyed cemeteries throughtout the county.

Most of these can be viewed on the Atlas of the Texas Historical Commission website.

A Texas Historical Marker is a lasting reminder of a person, place, or subject.

There are questions which you may have regarding how to obtain one for someone or something in Karnes County.

All of the information will be available to the public free of charge at the Marker Workshop presented by the Texas Historical Commission on June 29 at 1:30 in the Joe Barnhart Bee County Library.

Refreshments will be served and the public is invited to attend free of charge.

We would like for everyone to join us with this unique and one time only experience.

Dr. Barbara May Welder, Chair Bee County Historical Commission
