Gonzales, Chin, Hardwick claim Beeville club titles

BEEVILLE – The Beeville Country Club held its Club Championships over the Memorial Day weekend and announced this week that Julius Gonzales won the men’s championship flight while Elaine Chin repeated her championship run for the ladies’ golf crown. Jacob Hardwick captured the junior flight title.

Gonzales defeated Cory Brooke in the men’s finals. Brooke thus finished second in the championship flight while Craig Billman won the consolation crown.

Chin defeated Pat Gray in the finals to claim another championship at the Country Club. Libby Spires earned the consolation trophy.

Hardwick downed Austin Black in the junior finals, and Clayton Scotten was third in the junior division of the tournament.

In the men’s first flight, Brannon Brooke captured first place with Frank Hause placing second. Reagan Scott was awarded the consolation trophy.

In the second flight for the men, Art Chin earned to top prize with Jim Scotten in second place. Joe Larakers was the consolation winner.

The third flight winner was Mike Young with Jack Bond in second place. James Edwards earned the consolation trophy.
