The Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital Auxiliary held its’ monthly business meeting on Thursday, May 2, with 15 members present. President Emma Villanueva called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. in the Hospital Board Room. Monthly reports were presented by Officers as well as standing and appointed committee members.

Special guest, Pat Harden, Volunteer Coordinator for Nurses in Touch Home Health and Hospice, gave the members a presentation on their Volunteer Program. This program supports a 16 county area and provides a wide-range of services to its clients. It was a very informative and interesting presentation.

Congratulations to Vernon Janssen of Runge, who won the Spring Baskets lap quilt. The OKMH Auxiliary wishes to thank each and every one who purchased a raffle ticket during this fund-raising event. All proceeds from our fund-raising events directly benefit the Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital. Thank you in advance for your continued support of Auxiliary efforts.

Congratulations are also in order for the four area high school seniors who have been selected as our scholarship winners for this year. These students will each receive a $400 scholarship to apply toward their advanced education for careers in health care related fields. They are: Lillian Vickery, Kenedy; Bridgette Matula, Karnes City; Jennifer Kotara, Falls City; and Robert Molina, Runge. We wish each of you much success in your future careers.

Welcome aboard to our newest member, Marilyn Malik. We’re happy to have you join us.

Our next business meeting will be held Thursday, June 6. The meeting will be a luncheon meeting honoring our OKMH Board Members. Meeting will begin at 11 a.m. and will be followed by luncheon and fellowship.
