The Kenedy Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce our 2013 Miss Bluebonnet Days Queen and her Court. Queen: Lauren Hernandez, 1st runner up: Teryn Schmidt, 2nd runner up: Priscilla Torres, Junior Miss: Kerry Schmidt, Little Mr.: Luke Riojas and Little Miss: Lexe Villarreal. Other awards were given out and the winners are as follows: Little Mr. & Miss Division: Most Photogenic, Most Cooperative and Best Interview - Luke Riojas, Most Photogenic, Most Cooperative and Best Interview - Lexe Villarreal. Jr. Miss Division: Miss Congeniality - Dia Reyna, Most Photogenic - Dia Reyna, Most Cooperative - Kerry Schmidt, Best Interview - Kerry Schmidt. Miss Bluebonnet Days Division: Miss Congeniality - Lauren Hernandez, Most Photogenic - Jo Rahmes, Most Cooperative - Megan Moy, Best Interview - Teryn Schmidt. We would like to send out a special thanks to all the contestants that participated in the 2013 Bluebonnet Days Coronation. Everyone looked beautiful and did a great job.
Join us this weekend as we celebrate the 35th Annual Bluebonnet Days Festival. On Friday, April 26, there will be a margarita contest starting at 6 p.m. at the Joe Gully Park. If you think you can whip up the best margarita in Kenedy, you can pick up your entry form at the Kenedy Chamber of Commerce. The entry fee is free and the 1st place winner will go home with $100. DJ Matthew Garza will be providing entertainment for the night. The Bluebonnet Days Parade will be on Saturday, April 27 at 11 a.m. in downtown Kenedy. After the parade, there will be a celebration at the Joe Gully Park. There will be food, shopping, and a BBQ cook-off contest. There will also be a kid’s zone including a moon bounce, safari obstacle course, rock wall, carnival games and so much more. Ice chest are allowed. Dirty Texas Band will be providing entertainment for the night.
