S-T Lady Cats sending five to regionals

KINGSVILLE – The Skidmore-Tynan Lady Cat track meet competed at their 2A area meet on Thursday and had several athletes turn in top performances to advance to the Region IV meet in San Antonio this weekend.

Lady Cat Erica Nevarez placed third in the discus with a throw of 94-8.75. Nevarez brought home a gold medal for first in the shot put with a heave of 32-4.

Misty Martin was second in the triple jump with a leap of 33-3.25 and was also second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.96.

Reagan Crittenden captured a share of first place in the 200-meter dash with a quick time of 28.57.

In the 1,600-meter relay, the Lady Cat foursome of Crittenden, Martin, Victoria Herrada and Kayla Deleon placed second in 4:23.53

“All these girls did a fantastic job of competing at the area meet. Every girl who competed at the area meet will now advance to the Region IV meet in San Antonio on April 26-27,” said Lady Cat track coach Joseph Grimes III.
