Tuesday night wreck leaves two dead

LIVE OAK COUNTY- A wrong way driver on I-37 left two people dead and another injured after a late night crash on I-37.

The collision took place at 10:43 p.m. at mile marker 67, approximately two miles from Oakville according to information from a DPS report.

The report said Nathaniel Garcia, 45, of Corpus Christi was driving a 2007 Saturn Aura south on the northbound lane when he struck a 2008 Nissan Altima that was heading northbound driven by Pablo Flores, 25, also of Corpus Christi.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts according to the report. Garcia also had a passenger, Austin Garcia, 18, in his passenger seat.

Trooper John Kuiroga responded to the crash according to the report.

Nathaniel and Flores both died at the scene and next of kin were notified according to the DPS’ fatality report.

Austin was taken to University Hospital in San Antonio.
