Woodsboro Elementary performed its fifth Annual Christmas Musical, How the Penguins Saved Christmas, last Thursday evening, Dec. 8, at 7 p.m.

A total of 242 students participated in the program which included head start through fifth grade.

Each grade level represented a particular species of penguins by creating their own head piece. The rest of the costumes were made by the gifted and talented classes of Elaine McKinney.

Each grade level also performed a song and dance number to go along with the musical skit.

The fifth graders were the stars of the show by acting out each scene while dressed in Emperor Penguin costumes, Santa, Mrs. Claus, and reindeer costumes.
