Leanna Sylvia Haverlah Koemel, 79, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at a nursing home in Beeville following an extended illness.

Mrs. Koemel was born to Lee Henry and Anna Alma (Matheaus) Haverlah at their home in Three Oaks. She was a nurse for many years, a teacher and a musician.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, William Charles Haverlah; an infant grandson; and her husband of 52 years, John Koemel Sr.

Survivors include a daughter, Johnna-Lee Julie (Aubry) Taylor of Ingram; son, John Ernest “Butch” (Tina) Koeomel Jr. of Stillwater, Okla.; daughter, Kristen Kay (Kevin) Dunn of Houston; a son, Timothy Mark “Tim” (Lorin) Koemel of Rhome; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. at Roberson Funeral Home in Three Rivers.

The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 9, at 10:30 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church, located at 1500 E. FM 351 in Beeville.

A graveside service will also be Saturday at the St. John Cemetery in Jourdanton, Texas.
