Mildred Bomar, 83, died on Oct. 3, 2013 after a long illness in Pearland.

She was the daughter of George W. Smith and Bonnie M. Smith of Three Rivers. 

Mrs. Bomar graduated from Three Rivers High School and married Royse H. Bomar on May 2, 1948 in her parents’ home in Three Rivers.

They adopted two children, Mark Howard in February of 1956 and Laura Jane born in November of 1960.

Mrs. Bomar was a stay-at-home mom. She and Royse went into the antique business after Royse retired from Exxon.   They enjoyed traveling the east coast every year and also traveled overseas.

Survivors include her son, Mark and his wife Amy of Three Rivers and their children, Lindsay (Justin) Mansfield, and their two daughters. Mark’s son Nicholas Bomar, and his fiancé Jill Upah of Sweeney, and Mark’s step-son, Terry Fishbeck of Houston, daughter Laura Vaughn, her husband Rev. C. McAllsiter “Mac” Vaughn of Cypress and their five children, three grandchildren, Kennon Kruse, his wife Kelli of Cypress, Kayla (Josh) West of Denton.  Also surviving are Laura’s step-son Miles and his daughter Skyler Vaughn of Biddeford, Maine and step-son Matthew Vaughn, of Biddeford, Maine.

Memorials in lieu of flowers can be sent to First United Methodist Church of Navasota or First United Methodist Church Three Rivers.

Services will held on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 11 a.m with  Rev. Mac Vaughn of First United Methodist Church Navasota & Rev. Valli Blair of First United Methodist Church Three Rivers officiating. Graveside services will follow at the Three Rivers City Cemetery.

Services entrusted to Roberson Funeral Home, Three Rivers.
