Silvia Lara, 56, of George West had a warrant out for her arrest and was caught by Three Rivers Police Department after she was injured in a rear-ending car accident on Highway 72 near Hill Street in Three Rivers on Thursday, Oct. 3, at about 4:20 p.m.

Lara was in the passenger seat when Yolanda Lewis, 65, of Three Rivers rear-ended Mozelle Ploch, 81, of Three Rivers.

Ploch was turning her Honda Fit left off of Highway 72 when Lewis’s Dodge Caravan collided into her back end, according to TRPD officer Albert Carrion.

“It’s still an active warrant, so I can’t say what it’s for,” Carrion said. “She (Lewis) just failed to control her speed and was too short from it and didn’t hit the brake.”

Both drivers were uninjured in the incident, but Lara was picked up by Acadian EMS and will later be cited for her warrant.
