Ronald “Smoky” Barter
Ronald “Smoky” Barter, 64, of Three Rivers, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013.

Mr. Barter was born April 29, 1949, in Butler, Ala., to Maxine Elizabeth (Thompson) and Paul S. Barter. He was an iron worker for Brown & Root.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Maxine Barter; and three brothers, Bobby Barter, Tony Barter and Danny Barter.

Survivors include his companion, Dolores Campbell of Three Rivers; two daughters, Michele (Danny) Greer of Comfort and Tanya Giddings of Austin; a son, Jason (Sharon) Barter of Boerne; 10 grandchildren, Coyne, Christian, Creed, Tyler, Maisie, Ella-Raie, Jacqueline, Madison, Sophia and Raif; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Steve (Elaine) Barter of Beeville and Mike (Kim) Barter of Fritch; two sisters, Wanda McNelly of Fort Worth and Theresa White of Sandia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Three Rivers. A graveside service was conducted at 2 o’clock that afternoon at the Three Rivers Cemetery with Pastor Tim Stowe officiating.
