Ernestine True Lynn age 95 died on June 10, 2013 in Three Rivers. She was born in Bishop, Texas on September 12, 1917 to John and Nannie Webb True. When she was 9 years old her father bought a farm between Agua Dulce and Alice and they moved Bentonville. She went to college at A&I in Kingsville where she learned typing, shorthand and bookkeeping along with her other courses.

Ernestine married Joe McNeal (who preceded her in death). They had four children Mickey, Nancy, Kay and Rockey. Joe ran their business; Arkansas Fuel in Alice and Ernestine was the bookkeeper. She and their son, Mickey ran the business when Joe was hunting or away visiting his family in Georgia.

In 1967 Ernestine married J B Lynn who worked for BDK as a tool pusher. They were also owners of Lynn’s Trailer Park in Corpus Christi at Leopard and Violet Road for many years before moving to Lake Corpus Christi. Ernestine was a member of First Methodist Church Mathis, Birthday Club and past President of the Garden Club. She also modeled in style shows for McDonald’s Dress Shop. In March of 2007, they moved to Harbor Place in Corpus Christi. Ernestine was very friendly and made many friends. She enjoyed telling jokes, playing Dominoes, Skip Bo and Bingo with her friends and neighbors and special friend Ed Bahn.

Ernestine is survived by her children Mickey (Nita) McNeal of George West, Nancy Drew of Austin, Kay Holbein of Hebbronville, Rockey (Cinda) Crews of San Antonio. Her sister Fern (Johnny) Johnson of Alice, eleven grandchildren Debra Sue, Rickey Lee, HoHo, Holly, Tony, John, Lisa, Sunni, Lamar, Scott, Stepanie. Nineteen great, several great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by JB’s daughters Marilyn Lemacks of Miami, Fla., Wanda Jo (Kent) Fowler of Lake Jackson and son in law Wayne Crozier of Galveston and their families.

Ernestine is preceded in death by her husband JB Lynn, parents, brothers George and John True Jr., sisters Margie Trant, son-in-law Alec Holbein, grandson Donnie Holbein and nephew Rodney Robison. JB’s daughter Alice Crozier, JB’s granddaughters Linda Jensen and Debbie Freeman.

Pallbearers were Rickey Lee Holbein, Lee Holbein, Gus Holbein, Hans (HoHo) Holbein, Scott Crews, Lamar McNeal, Casey Breiten, and Alec Beiten. Honorary pallbearer was Troy McNeal.

Funeral services were held at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 2:00pm. Interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Park in Alice.

The family would like to thank Three Rivers Nursing Home for the loving care they provided.A special thank you to Roseanne, Debra, Debbie, Sandy, Janie, Olga, John, Cookie and others who cared for Ernestine.

We also want to thank Live Oak Nursing Center for the loving care they provided our mother.
