Adan G. Martinez, age 79, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, peacefully at his home in George West, Texas. He served in the US Army from 1953-1955. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Guadalupe and Adan were married 54 years, and they raised their 4 children which live in George West, as the family bond is strong, just as his business ethnics were. He owned and operated Martinez Air & Heating in George West. Guadalupe praised her husband for the wonderful years they shared, and how Adan always took care of her, and the family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Amalio and Maria Martinez, a brother Amalio Martinez, Jr., his father and mother-in-law Galdino Ruiz, Sr and Lucia Ruiz, a sister-in-law and 3 brothers-in-law, along with a niece, a nephew and a great-nephew.

Survivors include:

Wife: Guadalupe Martinez of George West, Texas.

3 Sons: Hector Martinez, Raymond Martinez and David A. Martinez all of George West, Texas.

1 Daughter: Ida Ann (Robert, Jr.) Flores of George West, Texas.

Brothers: Abel Martinez,and Arturo (Vickie) Martinez of George West, TX.

Sisters: Elisa Valadez of George West, TX; Eva Ruiz of Whitsett, TX; Elodia (Robert) Fernandez of Corpus Christi and Elia Chapa of Victoria, Tx.

He had 4 grandsons; 8 granddaughters; 6 great-grandsons; 5 great-granddaughters along with numerous nieces and nephews that will miss him.

Visitation was held at 6 PM with a Rosary recited at 7 PM on Thursday, April, 25, 2013 at St. George Catholic Church in George West, Texas.

Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, April 26, 2013, at 10 AM at St. George Catholic Church in George West, Texas. Burial followed the service at the St. George Catholic Cemetery, George West, Texas.

Pallbearers were Roberto J. Flores, Adan J. Flores, Alejandro T. Flores, Jesse A. Dominguez, Pablo Valadez, Jr., Leroy Martinez, Robert Ruiz, Jr. and Eddie Ruiz. Honorary pallbearer is Luis De Los Santos, Abel Martinez, Arturo Martinez, Gable Martinez and his coffee drinking buddies.
