Mr. McBride was born Aug. 30, 1942, to O.T. McBride and Philomena (Privat) McBride in Crowley, La. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 30 years of service. He was a member of st. George Catholic Church in George West.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Cecil Carter McBride; daughters Annette (Charles) Knapp of Calallen and Lynda (Sam) Kimbrell of Swinney Switch; sons, Stephen (Cindy) McBride of Robstown and Mark (Janet) McBride of Warrensburg, Mi.; a sister, Patricia Binderup of Houston; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Tuesday, April 9, at 5 p.m. and a rosary followed at 7 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Chapel in George West.
The funeral service will be conducted today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. at St. George Catholic Church in George West. Internment to follow at Coastal Bend Texas State Veterans with Father George Johnson officiating.
Pallbearers to be Steve McBride, Mark McBride, Charles Knapp, Sam Kimbrell, Anthony Knapp, Michael McBride, Robert McBride and Christopher Warren.
Memorials can be made to the St. George Stewartship Committee in George West.
