GEORGE WEST – The Live Oak County grand jury issued eight indictments during its session Thursday, Sept. 13.

Bonds for the indicted were reviewed by Judge Joel Johnson of the 156th District.

The indictments included the following:

Michael Sakuo Fujiwara, 28, of Austin, possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, more than one gram. Fujiwara was out on a $10,000 bond.

Alberto Javier Garcia, 19, of San Ygnacio, possession of a controlled substance, more than one gram. Garcia was out on a $10,000 bond.

Beau Dan Gooch, 27, of George West, possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram. Gooch was out on a $5,000 bond.

Jason Caldwell Mays, 39, of Corpus Christi, two counts of failure to stop and render aid. New bond was set at $30,000.

Robert Ray McMullen, 55, of George West, failure to register as a sex offender. New bond was set at $10,000.

Michael Pontius, 50, of Mathis, driving while intoxicated, third or more offense. Pontius was in custody with bond set at $15,000.

Russell Allen Sample, 53, of George West, driving while intoxicated, third offense or more. Sample was out on a $7,000 bond.

Walter Wilburn, 59, of Beeville, driving while intoxicated, third offense or more. Wilburn was out on a $8,000 bond.
