The list is long and the achievements great for several of the Beeville Lady Trojan soccer players. The 57-4A Academic All-District team for 2010 is comprised of 13 JHS student athletes.

The girls must be in good standing on the team and, then the hard part, must maintain a 90 plus average in the classroom studies to qualify for the elite squad.

Heading the list for Beeville is senior Carissa Elizalde, and joining her are juniors Natalie Elder, Mary Larakers and Morgan McKinney.

Sophomore Katelynn Willeford garnered the honor along with eight freshmen. The ninth-graders included Victoria Elizalde, Heather McKinney, Claire McKinney, Tori Munoz, Taylor Lawson, Erika Martin, Sydney Wesson and Randi Maupin.

Also garnering state-wide recognition was senior defender Carissa Elizalde, who was selected to the All-Academic All State soccer team in a recent vote of the state’s coaches.

The Lady Trojans went 20-1-3 during the soccer season and will have almost all the team back next year for another run at a great season.

Coach Johnny Gonzales has mentioned that other postseason honors may still be coming the Lady Trojans way.
