WHS golfers tee up, medal at Padre Isle

The Woodsboro Lady Eagle golf team won silver in the District 31A tournament at Padre Isle Country Club and the boys in fifth place.

Regional qualifiers that earned medals were Kasie Fierova in second and Mallory Jessop in seventh. The team had a total score of 497.

Fierova shot a 95, followed by Jessop with 123, Bria Brown with 144, Pauline Irving with 135 and Jennifer Elizardo with 150. Also representing Woodsboro was Abby King.

Medaling for the boys was John Blaschke in ninth place.

The team had a total score of 477 with John Blaschke shooting 98 followed by Dillon Starr with 120, Conner Payne with 117, Jace Haertig with 132 and Edward Meza with 150.

Josh Roach and Chris Payne also represented Woodsboro.

The Region IV 1A tournament will be next Monday an Tuesday, April 19-20 at Brenham Country Club.
