The Woodsboro Eagles lost to the Bruni Badgers 14-12 in a heartbreaker during its Homecoming Friday night in Eagle Stadium.

The closely matched teams fought head-to-head to the end.

The outcome was determined by a missed two-point conversion and missed field goals.

The Eagles held penalties to seven costing them 55 yards. Bruni led in mistakes, with 11 costing them 82 yards.

The Eagles fumbled lost the ball to fumbles once and Bruni fumbled three times losing the ball once.

The Eagles led in yards rushing with a total of 243 net yards to Bruni’s 201 yards.

The Eagles punted four times gaining 100 yards, with Bruni gained 32 yards on one punt.

The Eagles will hit the gridiron on Friday in Woodsboro against Kenedy. Game time is 7:30.
