GOLIAD – Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the identification of the person(s) responsible for a break-in and vandalism at a local school.

On Aug. 6, Goliad County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the Goliad Intermediate School gymnasium regarding a break-in. The investigation revealed the suspects pried open a small access panel that allowed them to enter a maintenance area beneath the south bleacher area of the gym. Once inside, the suspects found several cans of spray paint and used the paint to vandalize the underside of the bleachers.

The suspects also entered an adjacent maintenance room where they stole a pair of portable radios and charges. The radios are typically used by maintenance personnel keep in contact across the campus.

At no time did the suspects have access to the gym itself or the school.

Because of the nature of the vandalism and size of the access panel through which they gained entry, it is believed the suspects may be juveniles.

Anyone with information about who was responsible for this crime is asked to call Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers at 361-362-0206 or 1-877-362-0206.

All calls are anonymous and could earn a cash reward of up to $1,000.
