Jimbo Lewis was in Haertig’s convenience store when he purchased the ticket.
“I told the clerk she sold me a winning ticket. She said, ‘Wow! Congratulations,’” Lewis said.
Katrena Doughty, who sold the ticket, was almost as surprised as Lewis.
“I had to look at the ticket a couple of times (to realize what the winnings were),” she said.
Store owner Ray Niehal said he was surprised and happy for Lewis.
Lewis, 57, who has worked for the city of Woodsboro on and off for more than 20 years, said he plans on using the money to purchase a trailer and property.
“I’m just going to live a normal life and continue working at my job,” Lewis said.
“I thank the good Lord for it,” he added.
