Goliad County 4-H Club shooters compete at State Games

SAN ANTONIO – Cayla Hahn, Cody Park, Diago Gonzalez, Garrett Coles, Kourtney Brandes, Sarah Rayburn, Jacob Hahn, Gabriel Gonzalez, Braden Mayfield and Kelly Brandes, members of the Goliad 4-H Hot Shots Shotgun project, attended the 2014 Texas 4-H Shooting Sports State Games Shotgun Tournament held in San Antonio the week of July 14.

Rayburn placed second in intermediate international ladies high overall, third in intermediate ladies modified trap, fourth in international ladies skeet, fourth in intermediate ladies whiz bang and fourth in intermediate ladies sporting clays.

Jacob Hahn was first in Lewis Class C whiz bang. Mayfield was fifth in junior boys American trap. Coles and Zachary Cope won the Senior 1 two-man team American skeet and took third in the two- man team in American trap.

The shooters were all presented with belt buckles for their work throughout the year at the 2014 Goliad 4-H awards banquet. Park was presented with the Male Top Gun Award. Rayburn was presented with the Female Top Gun Award and Cayla Hahn was presented with the Leadership and Determination Awards.
