Good luck City of Kenedy

I would like to wish the City of Kenedy good luck with your latest Municipal Judge appointment, Barbara Shaw. However, I do feel your vetting process is flawed.

To answer Brandon Briones’ question as to why she quit her job as County Judge, her letter of resignation was printed in the Karnes Countywide on March 19, 2014 and was read at Commissioners Court meeting the following Tuesday, if I remember correctly. If she was so bothered and scared of what was being said, why did she run for office again? Personally, I think she lost the election - sore loser - quit job.

In reply to Isidro “Stormy” Rosette’s letter to the editor, Aug. 6, 2014, I would like to know why he is thought the County Clerk (who does not have a name) under the bus again? Carol must be doing her job or she wouldn’t have been re-elected or still be on the job. In her capacity as County Clerk, she as the right to hire or fire an employee. Why the employee in question was fired is between the County Clerk and the employee. Anything else would only be speculation or hearsay.

If you would come to Commissioners Court meetings, you would see things are getting done. The wheels of government move slowly and carefully. If anyone has complaints about how the county is being run, they need to come to the meetings and voice them.

My only complaint about the children being held at the county residential centers is the “luxuries and amenities” they are receiving, while there are children in our county who don’t have the same things available to them.

Thank you,

Jo Eilers
