Members of the Beeville Police Department and Beeville Volunteer Fire Department have been searching since Saturday evening for a BPD canine.

Police Chief Joe Treviño said the dog, known as Irk by his fellow officers, is a three-year-old, black and tan German shepherd.

The dog apparently broke out of the fence of its handler Sgt. Jason Alvarez’s yard in northeast Beeville sometime Saturday.

Treviño is asking anyone who might have seen Irk or a dog matching that description to call the BPD at 358-8100 or call (361) 318-6040.
