On May 3, the Karnes County American Legion Group participated in the Official Texas Historical Marker dedication ceremony for the Sociedad De Sementerio Union Mexicana at the St. Ann’s Cemetery in Nordheim. This was presented by the Texas Historical Commission, Dewitt County Historical Commission and Sociedad De Sementerio Union Mexicana. One of the honored guests was the Medal of Honor winner Santiago Erevia. The group unveiled the historical marker (left) and the 1930 tornado victim’s memorial (right) pictured above.
