Dr. Baker graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1974 and began practicing optometry in Portland, Texas. In 1986, he joined the practice of Dr. John Hester and Dr. Orville Schroeder in Beeville, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Baker of Beeville; two sons, Jeb Baker of Conroe and Darrin (Tina) Baker of Rockport; seven grandchildren, Brian, Taylor, Payten, Bella, Wyatt, Cody, and "Baby" Gabby; a brother, Brady B. (Karen) Baker of Katy; a sister, Bridgett (Troy) Brown of Sugar Land; and eight nieces and nephews.
Dr. Baker practiced optometry for 40 years, and his final contribution was the donation of his corneas so that others may see. A memorial service to celebrate the life of our husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle was held on Friday, August 8th, at 4:00 pm.
