Monday marks the return of prep sports

The first official day of the prep sports season is upon us.

On Monday, the county’s fall sports teams will report for the first day of practices.

In Beeville, football two-a-days begin at 5:30 a.m. for 10th through 12th graders.

Incoming freshman report at 9 a.m. to start practice.

Rebecca Riojas-Fryer’s first year at the helm of the Trojan volleyball program officially begins at 7:30 a.m. when all prep players report.

The cross country season opens at 7:30 a.m. when all prep runners report for their first practice.

In Skidmore, coach John Livas’ second year at the helm of the football program gets underway at 6:30 a.m.

The Bobcat volleyball team opens practice at 6 a.m., as does the Bobcat cross country program.

The Pettus Eagles get things going first in the county with the football team’s “midnight madness.”

First-year coach Jeff Doege will open the doors for his players at 12:01 a.m.

The Eagle volleyball team gets things going at 9 a.m.
