He will be buried on Saturday, Aug. 2, at 10 a.m. at the Pettus-Lott Cemetery on Farm-to-Market Road 1351 under the auspice Gina Frnka of the Goliad Episcopal Church and David Parks of the Cowboy Church.
Lott was born on Feb. 22, 1913 and was 101 years old at the time of his passing. His family was one of the pioneer families in South Texas, coming here during the beginnings of the Republic of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Allene Pettus Lott, and brother, Campbell Lott, and his parents, John F. and Charline Campbell Lott.
He is survived by two children and their families, Freeman Pettus (Cathy) Lott and Alicia Lott (Gary) Cowley as well as seven grandchildren, Charline (Patrick) Crabtree, Lisa Lott (John Wilkerson), Allison (Josh) Grabow, Robert Freeman (Heather) Pate, Carolyn Crane, John Cowley and Amanda (David) Byrd.
His life was enriched with nine great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren The newest great-grandchild arrived 10 days before his death.
Lott loved hunting with hound dogs, running cattle, playing poker and being anywhere on the San Antonio River.
