GOLIAD – Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the apprehension of the person(s) responsible for the theft of more than $10,000 worth of construction material and equipment from a new home site in north Goliad County.

On June 25, Goliad County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated the theft in the 700 block of Rutherford Lane. The victim told deputies the theft occurred at a new home site either late Friday night on June 20 or in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 21.

Among the items taken were a paver saw rented from Home Depot, a Stihl chainsaw, a Stihl band saw, a bathtub, door hardware and an extensive amount of tile to be installed in the home.

All of the items taken had been stored inside the home under construction except for the pole saw.

The property where the theft occurred is gated. However, the gate had been left open in recent weeks to allow for various contractors to get to the construction site.

Anyone with information about who may be responsible for this theft is asked to call Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers at 361-362-0206 or 1-877-362-0206.

All calls are anonymous and could earn a cash reward of up to $1,000.

Additionally, Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers has a standing Burglar Bounty reward of up to $1,000 for any information leading to the arrest of persons responsible for any unsolved burglary in Goliad County.

Anyone with information on any burglary, or those responsible for burglaries in Goliad County, is encouraged to call in their information to be eligible for the Burglar Bounty.
