HUMBLE – Goliad High School graduate Ashtin Zamzow captured the women's 17-18 heptathlon title Tuesday at the USATF National Junior Olympics.

Zamzow, who has signed to compete in track and field at Texas A&M, tallied 4,883 points in the seven events.

On Monday, Zamzow was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.10 seconds; fifth in the high jump by clearing 5 feet, 3 inches; first in the shot put with a mark of 35 feet, 7 1/4 inches; and 11th in the 200 in 26.41.

Zamzow won the javelin throw Tuesday with a mark of 152 feet and was 13th in the long jump (15-8 1/4) and ninth in the 800 (2:30.84).

The closest competitor to Zamzow was Lyndsey Lopes with 4,773 points.
