Mr. Elizalde was born July 31, 1952, in Beeville. He married Maria Silvas in Beeville on July 2, 2000, and was a supervisor in the refinery industry.
He was preceded in death by his father, Santos Elizalde, and uncle, Ysaac “Chaco” Elizalde.
Survivors include his wife, Maria J. Elizalde of Beeville; six daughters, Michelle (Dan) Rigoli of Charlotte, North Carolina, Alisia Yelverton-Elizalde of Alexandria, Louisiana, Elizabeth (Alex Martinez) Elizalde of Corpus Christi, Priscilla (Jason Cox) Elizalde, Stefanie Elizalde and Holly Elizalde, all of Beeville; mother, Rebecca Hinojosa of Beeville; step-mother, Alvina Elizalde of Broaddus; three brothers, Amador (Martha) Hinojosa and Benny Hinojosa, both of Austin, and Victor (Daisy) Hinojosa of Beeville; three sisters, Molly (Pete) Gonzales and Hilda Morin both of Beeville, and Lupita (Mike) Kemple of Corpus Christi; one half-brother, Gabriel (Melissa) Elizalde of Broaddus; and one stepbrother, Freddie (Billie) Coronado of Nacogdoches; three stepsisters, Rachel (Bryan) Bragg of Broaddus, Mary Sanchez and Yolanda Coronado, both of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Leslie Yelverton-Hillman, Abigail Elizalde, Hayden Martinez, Larenn Elizalde and Audrina Becerra; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel with a rosary recited there that evening at 7 o’clock.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, at St. James Catholic Church with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Interment followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.
Pallbearers were Juan Munoz, George Arevalo, Amador Hinojosa, Gabriel Elizalde, Gabriel Gonzales and Alex Martinez.
