COLLEGE STATION – The Goliad Tigers were eliminated from the Texas 7-on-7 Football Championships on Friday in a 33-19 loss to the Rice Consolidated Raiders.

The Tigers compiled a 1-3 record in Division II (Classes 1-3A).

Goliad opened the tournament Thursday with a 34-33 loss to China Spring in Pool H. China Sprng went on to win the pool with a 3-0 record.

The Tigers bounced back with a 49-29 victory over Sonora. In Thursday's final pool play game, Goliad fell 34-21 to Pilot Point. A victory over Pilot Point would have vaulted the Tigers into the championship bracket.

Rice Consolidated went on to beat Burnet 29-26 in the second round of Friday's consolation bracket and will face Waco Robinson in the consolation semifinals at 1:30 p.m.
