Local volunteer firefighters respond to Falls City fire

FALLS CITY – Volunteers with the Falls City and Karnes City Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a report of a fire at a Falls City residence Monday morning, July 7.

The fire departments were dispatched to the scene at 10:10 a.m.

Falls City firefighters were able to bring the fire under control quickly, and the call for Karnes City Fire Department was cancelled while firefighters were on their way to the scene of the fire, according to information from Karnes City Volunteer Fire Department Chief Charlie Malik.

The fire reportedly happened in the utility room of a home in the area of the 400 block of W. Maverick in Falls City.
