Tigers to compete at 7-on-7 football state tournament

GOLIAD – The Goliad Tigers will be among 64 teams competing for the Division II (Classes 1A-3A) title at the 7-on-7 football state tournament Thursday, July 10 and Friday, July 11 in College Station.

Pool play will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday. All teams will play three games Thursday.

The top two teams from each pool will advance to Friday’s championship round.

Goliad has been placed in Pool H with China Spring, Pilot Point and Sonora. The Tigers will play China Spring at 1 p.m. on Field A and then face Sonora at 3 p.m. on Field B.

Goliad’s final game on Thursday will be against Pilot Point at 5 p.m. on Field B.

Goliad qualified for the state tournament by reaching the final of Texas Shark state qualifier in June.
