Wow! Our Summer Reading Program is in full swing, and we're having a great time so far. We've talked about the biology of seeds and even planted some seeds (in cd cases!) and had a visit from Paco (a lovely macaw) and his family. We've done some experiments on surface tension and we're eagerly anticipating Thursday's visit from the San Antonio River Authority.

At 1:30 on Thursday the River Authority will be presenting a program on Fish, Water, and Critters. They'll be talking about local fish and wildlife and also about the health of local rivers. It sounds like a real good time, so I hope we'll see you there.

I'd like to take a minute to thank some of our sponsors for this year's Summer Program, who have donated prizes for our participants both in this initial Summer Reading Program and in our upcoming Throwdown: Albiar's Snowcone Place, The Texas State Aquarium, The San Antonio Zoo, The Majik Theatre, and your World Champion San Antonio Spurs! A huge thank you to all of you for really giving the kids something to read for.
