The Kenedy 4B summer youth program will be conducting its 1st summer punt, pass and kick seminar at Lions field on Saturday, June 21, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The event is open to all Kenedy boys and girls, ages 8 to 14 and is free.

The boys and girls will be instructed and measured in their punting, passing and kicking abilities.

Parents are invited and encourage to stay and attend.

The seminar will be conducted by Coach Michael Booker and will be attended by Ex-University of Texas football standout Duce “D.J.” Monroe.

Monroe was a member of the Longhorn football squad from 2009-2012, a All-Big 12 Honorable Mention selection during his senior year at UT, Monroe played in the 2010 BCS National Championship lose to Alabama where he was the Longhorns leading all-purpose yardage individual in the game.

Monroe is currently and assistant football coach at St Joseph Victoria Catholic High School and shares duties with Kenedy 4B coordinator Manuel De La Garza coaching the St Joseph’s track teams.

Monroe is a former UIL Class 4A State Champion in the 100 meter dash.

Injury waivers for the punt, pass and kick will be required to be filled out during the day of the event before the kids can participate on the football field.

Water will be provided at the event by Kenedy 4B. All kids attending will automatically be registered to win a UT football Nike jersey donated by “Gloria’s Restaurant” in Kenedy.

Monroe will also autograph any UT memorabilia during the day of the event for free.

You will also be allowed to register boys at this event for the Kenedy 4B middle school football camp scheduled for July 28 thru August 1, 2014.
