James Culberson, 65, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at his residence in Noxapater, Mississippi.

Mr. Culberson was born Sept. 10, 1948, to Mary (White) and James Clifton Culberson. He was a retired truck driver and a lifetime member of the Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA). During the Vietnam War, he served in the United States Navy for 10 years.

He was preceded in death by his sons, James Anthony Culberson and Samuel Lewis Culberson; his parents; and his brother-in-law, Dempsey Faulkner.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Charlotte Culberson of Noxapater; his daughter, Michelle (Joe) Trevino of Beeville; and his son, Chris (Natalie) Davis of San Marcos; five grandchildren, Morgan Davis, Sterling Davis, Tucker Cisco, Amber Nicole Clark and Novalen Trevino; and his sister, Shirley Ann Faulkner of Columbus, Mississippi.

Visitation was held Friday, June 13, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The funeral service was conducted there at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, with Rev. Tim Horton officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Noxapater.

Honorary pallbearers were L.D. Kelley Jr., Earl Yates and “Buzz” Soule.

Services were under the direction of Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, Louisville, Mississippi.
