At about 4 p.m. Jan. 20, the burglar alarm was triggered at the Minnehulla Baptist Church located at 3572 U.S. Highway 59. Deputies from the Goliad County Sheriff’s Office responded and found the eastside door entering the church’s fellowship hall had been forced open.
The investigation revealed the suspect had begun moving a DVD player out of the church and was apparently scared off either by the alarm being triggered or the arrival of a witness, who was a church member. The witness reported seeing a Hispanic male in a silver car fleeing from the scene.
The man was described as 25-35 years of age and about 5 feet, 9 inches tall with short black hair and multiple tattoos on his left arm. The suspect was wearing a red basketball-style T-shirt and jeans. He was driving as silver-colored car with faded spots in the paint.
Anyone with information about who may be responsible for this burglary is asked to call Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers at 362-0206 or 1-877-362-0206. All calls are anonymous and could earn a cash reward of up to $1,000.
