KARNES COUNTY – Boomtown Broadcasting, a subsidiary of Enduring Oil Exploration, LLC announced last week it has entered into a letter of intent to purchase KIBL 1490-AM in Beeville from La Radio Cristiana Network.

The station has fringe coverage area of 70 miles radius from Beeville to Corpus Christi to Pleasanton along Interstate 37.

“This is a good market, particularly when combined with KTNR 92.1-FM in Kenedy that we have,” said Karnes County resident David Martin Phillip, managing member of Enduring Oil Exploration, LLC. “This acquisition will enable us to offer our listeners the opportunity to have extended coverage of their favorite radio programing while traveling in South Texas.”

“The transaction is subject to due diligence, FCC approval and other conditions to closing,” Phillip added. “Boomtown’s desire is to acquire radio stations in smaller, less populated areas near, but not in, mid-sized and larger markets. We intend to acquire radio stations in sections of the Eagle Ford Shale, with the goal of ultimately building a geographically contiguous coverage area for both its broadcast signals and advertising sales force.”

A network of stations in contiguous broadcast areas with common programming formats would provide an advertising and listener base of significant size, Phillip explained.

“We expect to operate a studio in Beeville and Kenedy,” said Phillip, “to provide high-quality programming, including local news, weather, sports, listener interaction talk programs, drilling activity and reports, and country music to its listeners across the Eagle Ford Shale Trend and South Texas.”
