There will be a dedication ceremony for Ginger Johnson this Wednesday, Dec. 11. The event will take place at the Kenedy City Hall at 11 a.m. A plaque has been placed on the park bench that sits in front of the City Hall in memory of Ginger Johnson in honor of all her hard work and dedication that she has put into the community throughout the years. Community members are invited attend and honor Ginger Johnson’s dedication to the City of Kenedy.
December’s Second Friday Community Breakfast will be held this Friday at Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital at 7 a.m. Community members, please join us as we have breakfast and discuss new happenings around Karnes County.
Due to the very cold and rainy weekend we had last weekend, Christmas in Kenedy was canceled. But, Santa will still be stopping through Kenedy! On Wednesday, Dec. 18 Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital will host “Holiday on the Hill” between 6-8 p.m. There will be pictures with Santa, crafts and activities for the children, pony rides, a petting zoo, hot chocolate, snow and so much more family fun. All activities are free.
The Christmas spirit is certainly starting to come alive in our community. The Downtown Kenedy area looks beautifully festive, as well as neighborhood homes that have put up Christmas lights around town. It’s about that time for our Annual Christmas Decorating Contest! Come by the chamber office to pick up your entry form, office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We will award the top three houses on Tuesday evening, Dec. 17. Please have your entry forms turned in by Monday, Dec. 16 by 5:30 p.m. We look forward to seeing all of the Christmas décor around Kenedy!
