On the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Kenedy resident Judy Berry shared a hand-signed letter that she received from Kennedy in reply to a letter that she had sent congratulating Kennedy for winning the election. In the letter, Berry (then Mixon) reported that in south Texas, the City of Nixon voted for Kennedy and the City of Kenedy voted for Nixon. Berry, who was in high school at the time, said this letter remains one of her most prized possessions.
