Silver Santa is making plans to be in Goliad again this year.

The “Friends of Goliad,” Sheriff Kirby Brumby, and the Goliad County Sheriff’s Office are once again sponsoring the Silver Santa program for children in Goliad County.

Last year, Silver Santa provided toys and clothing to 279 children from 105 families in Goliad County who might not have had Christmas without this help.

The Silver Santa forms will be passed out at the elementary and intermediate schools this week. It is requested that the forms be returned to the schools by Friday, Nov. 22. If you have a student who child did not bring home a form or your children are too young for school, you may pick up a form from City Hall or Goliad Animal Clinic.

The students at the elementary and intermediate schools donated money again this year during their book fair so that books could be bought to give away through Silver Santa. This year’s amount raised from the two schools was $689.81.

Silver Santa is accepting toys and cash donations.

Volunteers will be needed to wrap the toys, books and clothing on Thursday, Dec. 12 and Friday, Dec. 13 at the Julie Wimberley Building.

Call Debby Brumby at 645-1210 for more information.
