GOLIAD – The Goliad Blue junior varsity opened district play Thursday with a 30-6 win over the George West JV at Tiger Field.

The Blue JV (5-0) was led by two touchdown runs from Kamron Boggess.

Tyler Vaughn scored on an 8-yard run in the first quarter and Orion Hosey returned a kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter.

Logan Muehlstein caught a 2-point pass and Boggess had a 2-point run.

The Blue JV offense was also led by linemen Michael Cartwright, Steven Koehne, Kassidy Bego, Zach Irby, Blake Weise and Ethan Whaley.

Also Thursday, the Goliad JV White shut out the Hallettsville Sacred Heart JV to improve to 2-1.

Patrick Tijerina scored on a 15- yard run in the first quarter.

Andrew Garcia had a 3-yard touchdown run for the final points in the fourth quarter.
