The day will begin with traditional barbecue, and guests may dine in or drive through for carry-out plates.
Plates will be served with potato salad, beans, bread and condiments along with tea and dessert. Anyone needing ticket information may contact Monica Flores at 361-543-7999.
Currently, church members are selling raffle tickets for $1 each. There are 35 prizes. The top prize is a $1,000 gift card.

The festival will feature an old time favorite “Cow Patty Bingo” on Saturday at the residence of Arlen and Cody Walker.
Mr. Walker has been a great friend to the church by donating his land and cattle over the years to host the event. Spectators can join in on the fun at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at his ranch behind the hospital. To purchase a square or for information, contact Frances Elizalde at 526-2728.
On Sunday, Sept. 8, a silent auction will be conducted, Bingo at 2:30 p.m., and on-site vendors such as Paparazzi Jewelry, Pampered Chef, and Stream Energy will be on hand. To set up a booth, contact Oscar De La Garza at 361-774-6965.
New to the festival will be inflatable rides for the children, sponsored by Arredondo Dozer Service and other indoor and outdoor games. There also will be a horseshoe tournament.
Orders for St. James Fall Festival T-shirts are currently being taken through Aug. 25. Youth T-shirts are $12, adult’s, $15 and larger XX plus shirts are $18.
T-shirts may be ordered after 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Aug. 25 or through the parish office from 1-4:45 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Payment is due at the time of ordering. The front of the T-shirt features the St. James Catholic Church steeple with an illuminated Cross in neon blue. Gold, silver, and bronze level sponsors, NA Productions, Arredondo Dozer Service, Nick’s Cattle Company, South Texas Oilfield Maintenance and Willco will be listed on the back of the T-shirt.
