Kenedy volunteer firefighters work to bring under control a brush and grass fire that ignited at a location about  one mile west of Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital. The fire was reported around noon on Monday, Aug. 19.  Karnes City volunteer firefighters were sent to assist to help bring the blaze under control.  Parts of Karnes County are listed under the most severe drought conditions according to data in the Keetch-Byram Drought Index as hot and dry conditions persist.
