On Sunday afternoon, Beeville police officers were investigating an apparent homicide in Kohler (Nopal) Park in the northwest part of the city.

Officers at the scene said an apparent argument between two people escalated to the point that one returned to the park with a gun and fired one shot, striking the other in the side. The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

After 4 p.m., yellow crime tape roped off a large area in the northern part of the park, near playground equipment located across the street from R.A. Hall Elementary School.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.
