Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Julia Guerrero Loya of Beeville; two sons, Lupe (Monica) Loya III of Cassopolis, MI and Servando (Ana) Loya of Houston; one daughter, Priscilla (Andrew) Rivera of Olympia, Washington; three brothers, Derlin (Ofilia) Loya and Antonio (Elida) Loya both of Beeville and Ernesto (Janie) Loya of Beaumont, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Loya was preceded in death by three brothers, Augustin, Gumecindo and Ray Loya; two sisters, Ignacia Farias and Odulia Longoria; one son, Ralph Loya; and one daughter; Thelma Velasquez.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. till 9:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o’clock. A Chapel Service was held Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. (Trevino Funeral Home), with Father Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2 with full military honors.
Pallbearers were local veterans: Eloy Rodriguez, Rosendo Garcia, Joe Richard Rodriguez, Richard Rodriguez, Armando Musquez and Mario Muniz.
